Retail Team Lead (F/T w/benefits)

Assist in fulfilling the mission of Goodwill by contributing to the management of its retail store, donation and in-store production facility, meeting store appearance, merchandising standards, and customer and team member expectations.
The successful candidate must possess a high level of personal drive and integrity, strong business acumen, effective team building skills, an orientation toward customer service, and accountability.
Support the mission and vision of Goodwill Industries of Northern Michigan.
Perform work in a safe manner observing all Goodwill safety policies and procedures.
Perform duties and interact with all Goodwill team members, clients, and customers in a professional manner. Respect the diversity of others including, but not limited to, those with cultural, ethnic, and gender differences, individuals experiencing homelessness, and persons with visible or non-visible disabilities
Assist management in ensuring the efficient operation of retail operations.
Ensure high level of customer service for all visitors to the store (shoppers and donors).
Assist in development and supervision of a well-trained, versatile staff which includes retail sales associates and production staff. Oversee work release volunteers and other volunteers.
Ensure that donations are sorted and tagged according to guidelines and merchandised appropriately and efficiently.
Direct, motivate and discipline staff in a consistent and positive manner.
Assists in achieving sales and productions goals.
Maintain appropriate use of available space and merchandise.
Maintain and improve retail operations conducive for a safe and clean/orderly work environment.
Ensure that all security and safety measures are followed at all times.
Attend required trainings and management meetings.
Communicate and adhere to all agency policies and procedures.
Open and close the store, including opening and closing procedures, balancing daily revenues, maintaining all administrative duties.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Reports to: Store Managers and Assistant Managers
Supervises: Supervise retail sales associates, cashiers, and production staff
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent reading, writing, and math skills to accurately complete all transactions and documentation.
Above average verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with all departments in the store, administration, customers, staff, and people with disabilities.
Proven ability to supervise people.
Good working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Ability to plan, organize, and implement operational needs.
Excellent multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks throughout the work day.
Must have eye for detail and the ability to make quick and sound decisions.
Ability to work independently, with little to no supervision.
Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area.
Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run store.
Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work varied hours and days as business dictates.
Physical Requirements:
Works in an environment with occasional high stress, and short deadlines requiring overtime.
Stands and walks for most of the work day.
Routinely bends, stoops, pushes, pulls, reaches, kneels, twists, turns throughout the day
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. May be required to exert 150 ? 300 pounds of force.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
